Remember vSphere 5.5 will go GA today. I have been working at installing vSphere 5.5 in homeLAB….ran into some issue with regard to ESXi 5.5 and Realtek NIC drivers.

A quick solution is to install ESXi 5.1, then just do an upgrade to ESXi 5.5. This will preserve your Realtek drivers and all will work 100%. It is possible that the final images to be released today will include these Realtek drivers.
